A former Senior Editor at McGraw Hill ( where she once had to concentrate on her work while a nearby coworker continually slurped coffee for hours on end) , author, and screenwriter, Susan has put together strategies for developing an inner world of concentration anywhere and anytime.
And as C.U.N.Y. Adjunct for 4 years, she learned that she has a particular talent for creating a curriculum for any idea or writing subject she wants to teach, and has the ability to meet any student “where they are” on a learning spectrum.
She is the author of 4 sets of 5th grade leveled readers for Pearson Publishing; biographies of Chief Powhatan, Alexander Hamilton, Ulysses S. Grant, and Ida Wells-Barnett, which were published summer of 2011.
She is an award winning playwright (Winner of the Strawberry One-Act Play Festival, Riant Theatre, NYC for the play “Gizzard Goes to the Beach,” finalist, annual play competition, Actor’s Repertory Theatre, NYC, for the play “Paper Doll.”)
She was a Fellow in the Screenwriters Workshop of the Writers Guild of America East, NYC, and has subsequently written 5 feature length screenplays and 2 sitcom pilots, and has representation in Hollywood.
